‘can you do it cheaper?’—yeah, if i do it wrong
We’ve all heard it before. The customer says, “Oh, it’ll be a quick job,” and you nod politely, knowing damn well that “quick” in their world doesn’t mean what it means in yours. It’s almost like they think you’re just going to wave a magic wand, fix whatever needs fixing, and leave. The truth? Those “quick” jobs can end up turning into a full-blown day (or week) of work. And it’s not like you can just walk away from it. You’re in it for the long haul, no matter what.
